Kathleen Jaeger was fortunate to have been born into a family in which the fine arts were highly valued and encouraged. Art has always been a defining part of her life. From earliest pre-kindergarten experiences through majoring in art in college, and on to the present, she cannot think of a time in which some form of art was not a significant part of her life. Combining that foundation with a love of children led naturally to a career in art therapy, working in the public schools guiding young people to discover for themselves the wonders of art and tap into their unknown strengths.

Upon making Hawaii her home Kathleen immediately took the opportunity to immerse herself into her personal creativity, immediately establishing a studio in her home where she now spends most of her time. She is the current President of the Kailua Village Artists, Inc., a local artist's co-op; a member of Hamakua Artisans' Guild; and a member of Waimea Arts Council.

Kathleen's current body of work was shaped by her career. In finding a multitude of ways to approach her clients and keep them engaged in the art process, she became familiar with and proficient with a wide variety of media. She most often works in stained glass mosaic, acrylics and other mixed media, selecting the most effective media to communicate to the world the image that is in her head.

Kathleen's art is available at both Kailua Village Artists' galleries in Kailua-Kona, the Harbor Gallery in Kawaihae, and the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea. She also uses her skills in various ways at the Kona United Methodist Church, creating images to enhance the worship space and inspire participants.

She lives in Kailua-Kona with her husband, Bill.
